Spring Break Picnic

{3.18.11}
(lots of pictures)

We wanted to go camping for Spring Break but the weather was warm enough
so we went on an all day picnic on the Arizona Strip
I know a picnic on the Arizona Strip sounds weird but it is really lots of fun.
I don't remember having picnics at a park growing up they were always out at a random location.
These are some of my funnest memories and video memeories.

Scott couldn't make it because he just had a huge meeting with Harmons and was super busy working.
So it was Me, Stella, my Mom, Dad, Anna, Laura, Charity, Ashlea, Steve and Colin

We took my Dad's truck and the Jeep.
It started with my Dad telling Laura
(who was driving the Jeep)
that we were going to follow the dirt round for about a 1/2 a mile then turn right
Well Laura just took off but after about 5 minutes of trying to call her we got a hold of her and she stopped.
We caught up to her and she though he said after 1/2 an hour of driving turn right
why she would think this we don't know
But we turned around and headed back to the turn off.
We passed the Gypsum Mine and stopped at a nice corral about 2 miles later.

Ashlea . Laura . Colin

The boys and Laura decided to put an old bathtub they found in the corral to see if it would float
then when it did they took turns floating across it.
They all ended up with wet butts

Colin

Steve

Stella ended up stepping in cow poop so I made her sit on the chair while I clean up her shoe.
The bucket kept her entertained.

My Dad caught a horny toad
Stella LOVED looking at it but she did not want to touch it
I think it was so scared because it didn't move at all

Charity decided the horny toad was a good accessory.
It probably stayed there for 20 minutes
Then my dad took it away and put it back in the desert

Stella so excited to ride in the Jeep
But once we were going and it was SUPER bumpy
she decided it wasn't for her anymore

Anna took lots of turns keeping Stella entertained.
It was WAY past her nap time but she never whined or cried.

Anna and I went Jeeping with my Dad
Then he took out the Laura and her friends
After about an hour we started getting worried it was about 6pm
So we cleaned up the picnic site and Anna and I walked down the road a little ways
My mom walked up the hill next to us to see if she could see anything.
Well a couple minutes later Laura came running around the corner.
Once we saw Laura we were freaking because no one else was with her
She told us that the Jeep got a flat tire and they forgot to put the cross wrench thing in the Jeep
(it was in the back of the truck, at least they remembered to bring it)
We drove Laura about 25 minutes then we saw my Dad walking along side the road,
so we picked him up too and drove another couple minutes to the Jeep.
My Dad, Anna and I fixed the flat
(more my dad but Anna and I screwed the jack back onto the front of the jeep)

It was a great picnic and we are glad that nothing really bad actually happened.

Rental Car

This giant beast is what Enterprise Rent A Car gave me

All I asked for was a vehicle I can easily get a car seat into.
I was supposed to get a van but when I showed it wasn't ready and I had to go to work.
So this was the other car they offered me!
It is giant!
It seats 8 people, so if you need a ride please let me know I plenty of room

I don't know how people drive these all the time
It cost me $50.00 to fill up HALF the tank!

I could fill up the GTI on Premium for $40.00
and it would last me almost 2 weeks
while 3/4 a tank in the Ford last me a week!

My car is being fixed in Las Vegas at an Audi Specialty shop
It won't be ready until at least April 7th
I am just happy I will get my small, good gas mileage car back!

Las Vegas

So yesterday my Mom, Anna, Laura, Stella and I went down to Vegas for a girls day.
I completely forgot my camera but I think Anna and Laura took a couple pictures on their phones.
We went to the Fashion Show  Mall and the Towne Square Mall
I was tons of fun shopping and hanging out with the girls!

Stella was absolutely amazing in Las Vegas!
She stayed in her strolled almost the whole time and didn't even whine or cry
When we did get her out of stroller she would ran around all crazy
or dance to the music in the store.
She entertained us and some other people as well with her crazy dancing
or spaz dancing, that is what Anna and Laura call it

On our way home we stopped in Mesquite for Ice Cream,
It was calling us!
We got Stella a kids ice cream, which is not kids size, she was so happy!
After a couple of licks ice would be all over her face
Anna and Laura tried to teach her how to lick the ice cream the right way but Stella would just stick her mouth on it and suck the ice cream into her mouth.
When she noticed Laura was eating the cone she didn't want the ice cream any more just the cone.
So I put the ice in an empty cut and she took a couple bits of the cone and was done.

Thanks Mom for the fun day trip to Las Vegas it was a blast.
Anna and Laura thanks for helping take car of Stella you two are the best.

Sorry for no pictures at this time!

{PS: HAPPY ST. PATRICKS DAY}

Wow!

Last night Stella and I were in a car accident!
We had just left Pizza Factory Express by Lins
We were stopped at the stop  light on Dixie Drive and Sunset by Maverik
We were just hanging out and then SMASH

I immediately got out to get Stella out of the car because she was scream.
She wasn't bleeding and I couldn't see anything wrong with her while I was holding her

After I got her calmed down a little bit I checked out behind me.
A Land Rover had smashed into the Nissan behind me which crashed into me and I hit the car in front of me
The Land Rover and Nissan had to be towed away because they were smashed up pretty bad
I didn't end up hitting the car in front of me very hard but both cars still have damage

While we were waiting for the police to arrive on the scene Stella and I stood on the sidewalk.
As we were standing there Stella started screaming
HELP MY CAR, HELP MY CAR BROKEN
Over and over, that definelty put a smile on my face.
Every kept telling her that it is okay Mommy will get if fixed and that seemed to calm her down.

We had to sit in the Lins parking lot for about an hour while the offices put everything into the system a got the cars towed.
I sat next to Stella to keep her entertained which was very difficult because she wanted to get and play.
Everytime I started to get emotional she would get all worried and say, mom crying you okay?
I would immedialty stop and tell her, yes I am okay, im not crying.
She definelty helped keep me under control.
Scott was on his way home from Salt Lake so I didn't get to see him till about 9:20pm.
My dashboard is like a Christmas Tree with all the lights that are on right now.
My seat belts is broken because an airbag goes off in the seat belt when your in an accident so it won't even move, it is stuck exactly like how I was wearing it.
The arm rest is stuck in position, I don't even understand that!
The glove box rubs now
Who knows what else is wrong, because Scott is a car guy he has told what else is wrong but I can't spell most of the items so I won't try.

A police office had to pull the Nissan's license plate out of my bumper.

The hood won't shut and the light is loose
There is supposed to be a gap between the car and the door

I am so grateful that there was a car between us and the Land Rover
because it would have really hurt Stella and I
I know his vehicle is totaled but I am so grateful for him.
I am so grateful we are okay.
Stella doesn't seem to have any after pain
I have some neck and back pain
but I am alive.

Our insurance has said that the car is most likely going to be totaled but won't know until someone comes and looks at it.
Thanks Mom and Dad for letting us borrow a car so we can get around, LOVE YOU!

The freaky thing is my accident was about 7:40pm
and Anna and my cousin Hayley were in an accident at 9:00pm in Salt Lake
It wasn't their fault either, someone turned into them and totaled her vehicle!
Anna, Hayley I am so happy you guys are safe!

Entertained

Keeping Stella entertained all day is a tough job mostly when she only wants to be outside
and when she is throwing tantrums ALL DAY.
(I can't wait till this stage is over)
She decided that she likes playing under the kitchen table.
Scott and I sit on the outside of the bench and we ask for something and she pretends to give it to us.
The only thing she really likes giving us is ice cream
She gets very excited when we ask for ice cream because she wants real ice cream.

After I took these pictures I realized that my kitchen table legs are VERY dirty
I had no idea
Now I get to clean them, oh poopy

Growing Up

I decided to put Stella's hair in a ponytail finally.
I haven't wanted to because it would mean she is getting bigger.
(age wise not weight, haha)
But she is getting bigger and it is so cute! The pictures don't do justice!
She looks like she is at least 4 years old, it is killing me
I am trying to find someone in our ward or area the is doing Joy School but it has not been a success yet

Oh she is so big it is killing me!

I got her a Tinkerbell lunch box to see if I could get her to eat better at lunch
She calls it her backpack
and she is eating a lot better now loves opening it and finding out what is inside.
You can't really see in the picture but she is wearing Laura's purple high heels
Thanks Laura for donating them to her dress up box

More Outside

We spent yesterday at the garden then at my parents house because they have a nice yard.
Stella loves one of their bushes that has red berries on it.
She loves pulling them off and either throwing them or making piles.

She really wanted to go swimming yesterday but I kept telling her Grammy and Papa's pool was to cold.
That didn't make a difference she was pretty upset I said no

Since we don't go out to eat very often we decided to go to Frostop for fun.

It was a very fun filled day
I wish it wasn't going to rain this coming week so that we could play outside more.
I am glad we live in Saint George though because it does get warmer sooner

Gardening

My Dad decided that he was going to put a garden on some of the extra land at his office.
I am very excited because I tried making my own garden at the office right before I got pregnant but I did not have the right tools.
He used this GIANT forklift to get the dirt tilled up first
it is all pretty hard dirt until you get under the first layer.

We spent about two hours one evening, Feb. 14th  Valentine's Day
(Scott was in Salt Lake on business but we don't celebrate Valentines
and my parents don't celebrate Valentine's either)
and my Dad used the rototiller and everyone else picked up large rocks
(Mom, Stella, Me, Anna and her friend from school)

Then my Dad pretty much did every thing till the planting
That is when I started helping again.
I decided to make cute signs for each row.

Stella and Papa playing in the dirt

I forgot to make Swiss Chard and Lettuce signs
then when my Dad finishes tilling the back part we will do Squash and Zuccini
and whatever else we can think of.

I am really excited about the garden, I love having fresh fruits and veggies!
And since I am at the office working almost everyday Stella and I get to watch it grow
and I have been informed I am in charge of weeding
but I don't mind it will be lots of fun.
