Topsy Turvy

The Relief Society asked me to make a cake for a Mad Hatter Tea Party.
I decided to do a two tier topsy turvy cake.
I had not done a topsy turvy cake before and it was a bit hard.

Bottom Layer: Lemon Cake with Buttercream
Top Layer: Chocolate Cake with Buttercream
The whole cake is covered in marshmallow fondant.

Beautiful

Well today was a beautiful day so I decided that it was time to let Stella go swimming.
She has been wanting to go swimming in my parents pool but it is not that warm yet.
I blew up the little pool and Stella had a blast!

The she took a break for a little drink out of the hose
It was so funny watching her try to get a drink but she did it.
Thanks to Papa Lincoln for teaching her

I am so happy it is Summer, I love it!

Croissants

I have been wanting to learn to make croissants
but I haven't been able to find a book that I like and can understand.
I finally found one, 100 Great Breads.
(I also watched YouTube videos)

So I started yesterday
(because it has to sit over night)
and finished today.
I think for my first time they turned out great!
They were flaky and with a crispy outside.

The left ones are regular croissants and the right are chocolate croissants (yeah they were good)

I am hoping that the more I make them the faster and easier it will be.

Girls Night

{May 5}

I decided that Lindsey, Sharon and I needed a girls night out on Cinco de Mayo.
So we headed to Ernestos for some really good Mexican food then went bowling.
(I didn't get any pictures at dinner)

Valiant 9

{May 4}

Scott and I have been teaching Valiant 9 in primary for the past year.
It has been lots of fun teaching and getting to know these wonderful kids
But our ward has been split and only 3 out of 12 of our kids are going to be in the new ward with us.
So we decided to have a pizza party for a one last time get together.

I didn't take many pictures because I forgot!

Stella loved that all the girls wanted to play with her and dress up.

We had pizza, pop, chips and LOTS of candy.
The boys played XBOX for a minute then we all played UNO.
I wish everyone could of made it but I am glad we got to see some of them.

So Cute

{May 10}

I was making dinner and Scott was playing with Stella on the porch
I looked out the window to this...

 Pretending to sleep when I came out
(Do you love our chalk covered garbage can? Thanks to Stella)

 Oh I just LOVE these two people!

I love that Stella wants to do everything Scott does
She is so funny

Bigger

{May 9}

We took Stella into the doctors to have a lump looked at on her neck.
While we were there they weighed Stella and she weighs
23 lbs (4th percentile)
The Doctor was very happy and so are we!

(The doctor isn't 100% sure what the lump is but she wasn't worried, it is not cancer)
